I Dream of Crystal... A New Must Have for Your Bar!

As I was casually perusing through the latest Bloomingdales home catalogue, I stopped short when I spotted Waterford's new London Barware collection created by Jo Sampson. This new line is a brilliant marriage of an art deco aesthetic with classic luxury that is so often associated with Waterford's crystal.  Perfectly suited for a gentleman's library in a classic colonial or atop a sleek lacquer console in a New York City penthouse, this line of barware will inspire the need for a cocktail!

Ladies, don't think that these are suited for men only!  I am quite certain that Dame Elizabeth Taylor would have had a set handy as the lovely facets are so reminiscent of  her famous Burton-Taylor asscher cut diamond. I mean... What girl doesn't want to sip on a scotch while dreaming of diamonds?

On top of being unfathomably stylish, this barware is very well priced for Waterford crystal.
Here are links for where you can purchase the decanters, highball, and lowball glasses!

In general, I tend to gravitate towards Baccarat when I am in the market for high-end crystal barware. Since 1764, Baccarat has represented perfection in the art of crystal. Unique expertise, important designer collaborations, and breathtaking creations have enabled them to continue their legacy as the preeminent source for crystal. Their motto is, " Elegant, precious, forever innovative- and always harmonious. " That being said, there is most certainly a hefty price tag that comes attached to these ethereal creations. The Harmonie Decanter, for example, is a staple of the Baccarat collection and is priced around $1145.00.

Interestingly enough, on a recent trip to Montreal, I noticed this illustrious decanter had a very similar counterpart. It comes in from the store ZONE Maison and is priced at $42.00 CAD.
While it doesn't promise you a lifetime of status and luxury or the heritage of almost 300 years of a perfected craft, it is quite great looking.  The decanter boasts elegant lines cut delicately into the glass and a sophisticated shape which is appropriately proportioned. Whereas the Baccarat version is a collector's item, this will simply make your bar more beautiful!

Now go forth and sip elegantly!
